    Job description:


    • The purpose of this role will be to provide commercial support to the Energy Affordability Programme within the Energy Markets & Supply DG Group. The Energy Affordability Programme consists of a list of energy support schemes which form part of the government's cost of living assistance package for the UK.
    • The appointed individual will be responsible for the procurement and contract management of essential supporting contracts, such as audit & assurance services, monitoring & evaluation services, and contact centre services which are critical to the delivery of various energy support schemes. In addition, the individual will be responsible for running other procurements as requested and managing the procurement pipeline, agreements register and commercial database.

    Person specification:


    • The Assistant Commercial Lead will support Commercial Leads to deliver strategic objectives for Energy Affordability Programme:
    • Work effectively with various partners, including the Central Commercial Team to ensure that consistent commercial advice and support is provided to programme teams.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues in finance, policy, project delivery, legal and support senior leadership teams.
    • Manage all aspects of procurement and tendering for designated procurement projects in accordance with legal compliance and BEIS policies.
    • Lead all aspects of contract monitoring and management for designated contracts. Ensuring standards are set, met, and maintained and appropriate processes are followed.
    • Manage programme procurement pipeline, agreements register and commercial trackers. Ensure the projects data is recorded and maintained on BEIS esourcing portal in accordance with internal policies.

    Skills and Experience

    Essential

    • Demonstrable experience of effectively managing end to end procurements and commercial agreements.
    • Demonstrable capability to work proactivity and to take ownership and accountability of your own tasks and work.
    • Demonstrable capability in managing stakeholders and establishing relationships both internal and external to your organisation.
    • Demonstrable understanding of commercial risk, and the ability to identify, mitigate and escalate as appropriate.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Desirable

    • CIPS, MCIPS or IACCM qualifications.
