Passenger Operations Support Operative (POSO)


Are you our next Passenger Operations Support Operative (POSO)? We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for our operation.

The Passenger Operations team provides the operational delivery of key elements of the passenger journey, commercial management of service contracts, and delivering our vision for customer experience


What is the role?


The Passenger Operations Support Operative (POSO) team carry out a passenger facing role predominantly focused on passenger safety, cleanliness of external areas and satisfying passenger demand for trolleys.

The role involves manual handling and other physical tasks, working to a plan and supporting the Passenger Operations department to deliver great passenger experience across the terminals and surrounds in a fast-paced environment.


What will you do?

  • Responsible for ensuring that trolleys are available for passenger use in line with demand, circulating and placing trolleys depending on the time of day and peak periods of departures and arrivals.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of external passenger facing areas of the airport
  • Safe and efficient movement of trolleys between terminals, loading and unloading them where required using appropriate vehicles and techniques and adherence to health and safety related standards and regulations.
  • Provide assistance and information for passengers throughout the airport, utilising customer service skills and airport knowledge.
  • Supporting winter operations as required, carrying out pedestrian area gritting tasks under direction of Passenger Operations Manager's.
  • Act under the direction of the Passenger Operations Manager and carry out tasks as required to support all operational requirements.

Do you have what we're looking for?

  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with customer enquiries, as well as major disruption
  • Some IT skills and knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Ability and confidence to work well as part of a team and under own initiative
  • Able to balance workload and prioritise activities whilst working with mínimal supervision
  • A friendly, enthusiastic and positive individual with a keen interest and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Knowledge and understanding of airport operations, would be useful
  • Experience in handling customer face 2 face passenger queries, providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work across multiple tasks within required deadlines.
  • Working as a POSO will require you to be friendly, approachable, and patient, with the ability to deal with people in a positive and calm way. You'll be happy working as part of a team, and you'll be confident and openminded when dealing with any issues. You'll also need to be motivated, with a cando attitude
  • Hold a full clean UK driving licence, C1 licence is desirable.
