Cambridge University Libraries plays an important role as a partner in research, providing services, collections and expertise to support research excellence across the full range of academic disciplines.

The Research Data Coordinators report to the Research Data Manager in Cambridge University Libraries' Office of Scholarly Communication.


The role-holders advocate for and maintain academic community engagement and interest in research data management and sharing across the University of Cambridge.

They promote the guidance in the University's Research Data Management Policy Framework and support research staff and students in implementing its principles.

They lead the management of the University-wide Data Champion programme, focusing on maintaining, growing and developing this community.

The role-holders deliver training on research data management and sharing to research students and staff across the University.

They mediate the deposition of research data into the institutional repository, following workflows and evaluating datasets. They liaise with academics to ensure that data are suitable for the repository.

They support researchers on request by providing tailored advice on data management and reviewing their data management plans.


They contribute to the development of the research data services at Cambridge and liaise with colleagues nationally and internationally to exchange best practice.

Interviews are expected to be held during the week commencing 27th February 2023.
