- Developing various infrastructure solutions on AWS as well as datacenter / private cloud to deliver high availability, rapidly developed, fully automated solutions using predominately open source software which deliver value to the customer.
- Providing technical leadership, help and guidance to less experienced members of the team through mentoring, coaching, constructive review and active participation in various technical forums.
- Advising our customers on the latest technologies and methodologies, designing and implementing innovative approaches to their problems using Automation.
- Ensuring software standards are maintained, being able to train and mentor junior staff. Defining processes and procedures to ensure maximum re-use and maintaining standards.
- Understanding security policies and implementing solutions that satisfy the security requirements.
- Designing and implementing solutions which have high availability and are scalable.
- Providing feedback and demonstrating to a wider audience solutions currently being developed and introducing the team to new concepts and products.
- Occasionally provide after-hours support for critical incidents or planned upgrades.
- Collaboration with various DevOps engineers and stakeholders for project and operation delivery.
- Must have at least several years of experience as DevOps or SRE role where Kubernetes (EKS/ECS/ECR) being used extensively.
- Excellent experience of working on Unix / Linux/ Ubuntu environments.
- Proven practical experience of Java and Python
- Proven practical experience in of Authentication and Authorization – Keycloak/Redhat SSO, OAUTH2, SAML and OIDC
- Proven practical experience in CI / CD tooling – Jenkins
- Proven practical experience in Infrastructure as Code – Terraform
- Proven practical experience with configuration management tools – Ansible (preferred)
- Proven practical experience and knowledge of various AWS services.
- Proven practical experience in container technology & orchestration – Kubernetes – EKS, ECS, and ECR
- Experienced in Fortigate, Fortiweb and Prometheus Monitoring.
- Working knowledge of digital delivery processes and methodologies
- Ability to work with an Agile Team, being able to be self-driven and looking for continuous improvements to both the process and the systems.
- Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), collaborative and personable – happy to help take a lead on projects and provide mentoring
- Hold at least one certification in AWS at associate level.
- Must possess security clearance for employment in the public sector or have UK settlement status (ILR) to be eligible for security clearance.
