Overview

The main purpose of this post will be to analysis oat scouting data & oat trial data ensuring it is analyzed to determine the running efficiency and impact to the plant.

Liaise with key stakeholders such as Cupar Oats Planning, UK Global Procurement, LSS / CI Teams, Shift Operations Managers, Site QFS Managers, UK / US R&D and external contractors such as GrainCo.

Develop and maintain a focused 3 year improvement plan for the Grainstore with a Capital Plan in place.

As area owner, assist with Project Management and capital investment and validate installations via robust engineering validations with statistical analysis evidence.

Create a Grainstore efficiency program focused on delivering Quality oats in a cost effective ways of working from the farms into the factory and onto our customers, in a safe condition.


Responsibilities

  • To work with suppliers, Oats Planning and Grains Global Procurement to ensure visibility of all oat sampling data, to be the representative for the Cupar Plant.
  • To understand and operate lab equipment to ensure accurate analysis and track data
  • To carry out full statistical analysis of oat samples.
  • Expert in IT systems for data input.
  • Flexibility to cover other tasks when required.
  • Take responsibility and ownership for the zone that you work in and the plant in general. This includes good housekeeping, hygiene, and 5S / lean standards are met.
  • To maintain a Safe, Healthy and hygienic work place. Work safely and improve safety AND efficiency through plant systems and equipment.
  • Drive the plant key performance indicator (KPI) targets of cost, quality, service, hygiene and safety.
  • Monitor, control and carry out in depth fault diagnosis and arrange repairs on equipment.
  • Ability to work on your own and in a small team and with UK and global stakeholders.
  • Perform benchmarking exercises with other grains manufacturing sites (internal and external to PepsiCo).
  • Super User for Dream Reporting System.

Qualifications

  • Degree level of education in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is desired.
  • A good level of knowledge of Process knowledge / Post Graduate preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a cooperative style that builds strong relationships and respect for others.
  • Strong data collection and statistical analysis skills.
  • Strong coach and facilitator with the ability to influence behaviour.
  • Planning ability planning ability, data collection and analysis.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to develop action plans through the prioritisation of work.
  • A strong role model for Safety, Quality and Food Safety behaviours and continuous improvements.
  • Kaizen Leader (preferred but training will be provided).
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Auditing/ compliance checking.

Desirable:


  • Storage of combinable crops assurance schemes: eg. GTAS, TASCC.
  • HACCP.
  • Chemical safety awareness.
