This specific role of the Demand Planner is to collaborate with cross-functional team (Sales, RGP, Supply etc) and deliver accurate, timely information & data with a view to enable effective and data-led decision making.
- You will take ownership of actions that will drive improved critical metrics such as Sales Forecast Accuracy and Bias as well as Inventory.
- The role will combine product planning activities with requirement to lead ad hoc projects, support the productivity agenda and be essential support to the wider team.
Deliver accurate, timely and unbiased demand signal - Delivery of Sales forecast accuracy, bias, driving Days Forward Cover and Inventory as a % of NSV KPI's.
Drive the monthly S&OP and IBP agenda to enable the market and Supply Centres to maximise Diageo profit and Customer service.
Understand Supply Chain strategy and support breakthroughs for continuous improvement of processes whilst minimising out of stocks, managing inventory and creating responsive Supply Chain through achieving high sales forecast accuracy & low bias results.
Top Accountabilities:
- Create and Maintain Model and Master Data Lead monthly performance reviews using relevant KPIs to assess effectiveness of demand planning process
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify drivers of errors and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure rigorous adherence to standardised meeting agenda and documented processes Generating, Adjusting and Publishing Forecasts Provide key input to the monthly BPM/S&OP and commercial unit support as required
- Participate in the S&OP process to align upon the rolling 18 months consensus forecast that will drive the supply plan
- Generate the forecast information packs to support the S&OP process
- Drive "what if" scenario planning to identify risks & opportunities
- Review statistical input to the Strategic Planning and AOP process and challenge projected growth assumptions based on historical trend Generate the most accurate weekly phased demand forecast at the appropriate planning level on an 18month horizon.
- Complete history cleansing activities ensuring all adjustments and assumptions are recorded e.g. market trends, seasonality, promotions
- Maintain all statistical parameters used to drive "best fit" model & generate a baseline 24month statistical forecast model and product hierarchies
- Undertake weekly check on planning data integrity and ensure signal passed to supply 100% accurate
- Analyse all sales vs forecast exceptions utilising the suite of BW reports and make ongoing forecasting corrections.
- Analyse market trends, seasonality, promotions to make valuable contributions to the baseline statistical forecast.
- Review customer sell out & SIT data and amend forecast where appropriate Application of Product Lifecycle Plan Monitor inventory levels and management of SLOBS
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure no max stock breaches and stock
- Work with Supply on any stock out/stock breach exceptions
- Identify potential SLOBS weekly and input into S&OP process
- Manage existing SLOBS, provisions and write offs within targets.
To be successful in role you will have experience working in Demand Planning, and be an experienced user of planning systems (SAP APO is a must).
Excellent influencing, partner engagement and interpersonal skills
Ability to challenge senior partners and hold tension in S&OP conversations
Solid understanding of end to end supply chain operational processes e.g. DRP, MPS, inventory, conversion, logistics and customer service
Customer centric Additionally, some wider cross functional experience preferable e.g. commercial, finance.
Be a leader, able to influence peer group on processes and procedures.
