The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be based at St John's Hospital but will have occasional sessions at Western General Hospital.

This post is a full time fixed term post for one year as a consultant Urologist who wishes to provide a high quality Urology service.

General and Diagnostic Urology will be the core component of this post and is a significant workload within the department.

The post involves predominantly endoscopic lower urinary tract surgery. An interest in the management of superficial bladder cancer and the management of BPH would be beneficial. The post holder would also be expected to be instrumental in streamlining and improving the General Urology Service.

The post will involve contribution to service provision on a hub and spoke basis and some flexibility in work arrangements is required.

Urology services are provided by the Lothian and Borders network which provides general and specialist urological services for a population of 850,000 across several sites centred on the unit at the Western General Hospital (WGH).

In addition to St John's Hospital (SJH), Livingston the network includes the Borders General Hospital, Melrose and East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington.

Regional Services for the East of Scotland (Lothian, Borders and Fife) are currently undergoing national review and this may result in future changes of work patterns.

The Southeast Scotland Cancer Network also includes Dumfries & Galloway with referrals to tertiary services at the Western General Hospital at present.
