    Description


    Design Manager – DevonAn incredible opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a well established regional building contractor on a permanent basis This contractor offers a complete package of construction-related services including design and build through to refurbishment and associated fit-out works with clients including Government, Local Authorities, Healthcare, Universities and Housing Providers.

    As the Design Manager, you would be liaising with the site teams, senior management, consultants and architects to effectively manage the design process.

    You should have a solid work history reflecting your achievements in a similar role incorporating experience of pre construction on a range of general contracting schemes and a sound understanding of detailed design.

    You will have the ability to assimilate complex technical issues and understand the design, procurement and construction process as well as a good eye for detail and the confidence to challenge drawn information to improve detailing and buildability.


    Responsibilities:


    Review the Project Information including the employer's requirements, contractor's proposals and design team appointments to brief the design team on their contractual obligations and their corresponding dutiesAgree, in conjunction with the site team, the specialist subcontractor procurement strategyManage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data to ensure the design programme is achievedAssist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces and review alternative designPrepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and or material proposals for client approvalObtain design reports from primary and secondary designers to accompany the monthly CVRsRaise RFI's where requiredProgress the approval of all specified design certificates including, CDM, BREEAM, Secure by DesignManage the client design approval processRequirements:HNC / Degree Construction related& Builddriving licenceIf you would like to discuss, please do call RGB Recruitment Exeter and ask for Nicky Harris.
