CNC Machinist

Location:
Ayr, Scotland

Job Type:
Full-time, Permanent

Shift Types:

Weekday Day Shift:
Monday to Thursday - 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Friday - 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Back Shift:
Monday and Wednesday - 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Thursday - 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM (No Friday working)

Salary:
£16-£18 per hour (depending on experience)

Overview:

Responsibilities:

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and sequences.
Set up and configure CNC machines, including loading and aligning the required tools and materials.
Program CNC machines using Fanuc controls and optimize machining processes for efficiency.
Conduct regular machine checks and maintenance to ensure smooth operations and prevent breakdowns.
Monitor and adjust machine parameters, feeds, and speeds to ensure accurate and highquality machining.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine and tooling problems to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Collaborate with other team members, such as engineers and quality control personnel, to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

Timeserved experience as a CNC Machinist is essential.
Proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines.
Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and the ability to troubleshoot related issues.
Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy.
Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
