    Job Description Summary

    The Senior Data Architect is accountable for enabling the technical vision and strategy for the organisations use of data. You will be accountable for defining and maintaining the technical data architecture roadmap offering advise and guidance to business stakeholders. You will ensure that data architect solutions align with business requirements and data policies and regulations. You will be accountable for the choice of the toolsets required to design, build, manage and maintain the data storage facility within an agreed budget. You will lead a team of people to deliver a simplified data solution ensuring that data is secure, available, and accurate to business stakeholders.

    Job Description

    • You will review the 'as is' solution, work closely across TalkTalk and wider teams to identify an approach that allows us to move data across various data warehouses to agreed tight timelines and budget. This includes people, process and technology.
    • You will support the design data models and metadata systems ensuring artifacts are created, managed and maintained.
    • You will be responsible for defining data architectural solutions that are in line with the long-term business strategy.
    • You will be accountable for the creation of diagrams that show key data entities and any data required to implement solutions.
    • You will work closely with IT Enterprise Architects and other Data Leaders across the business to ensure that business and data strategy are fully aligned.
    • You will work closely with business stakeholders to educate and engage in technical architectural and requirements analysis discussions.
    • You will be accountable for the simplification the data estate by reducing the number of tools utilised to gather data, this will include the design and management of data feeds, introduction of best practice including documentation and version control.
    • You will be responsible for working closely with project team and raising risks. You will manage risks to mitigation, resolution, or acceptance.
    • You will engage with senior management and playback options and opportunities considering time cost and quality.
    • You will be accountable to ensure that any design, build and decommissioning and archive of any data is compliant with data compliance and data policies.

    In-Life Management

    • You will work proactively with stakeholders and establish strong working relationships and a mutual trust. You will be accountable for the management and resolution of escalations from both external and internal stakeholders. You will be accountable for management of the budget and adherence thereof working closely with the IT Consumer Head of Commercials.
    • You will coordinate new project requirements identifying data requests and building to the agreed operating model.
    • You will ensure the correct management and governance of data dictionary.
    • You will drive cost efficiencies and look to optimise and digitalise services, introducing AI and automation.
    • You will be accountable in maintaining the integrity and security of the company's data.
    • You will be accountable for delivering monthly reporting on key performance measures and responsible for effective operational management of key initiatives to run the service.

    Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

    • Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with a focus on data value realisation initiatives.
    • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data security standards.
    • Expertise in designing and implementing data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and self-service analytics solutions.
    • Proficiency in data modelling, ETL processes, data integration, and data visualisation tools.
    • Previous Cloud Migration experience essential (either Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift)
    • Expert level experience working with Azure and or Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate
    • Interest on and exposure to on Generative AI are beneficial.
    • Desired exposure to modern metadata management, ontologies and knowledge graphs.
