We are on the look out for an ambitious, hard working and driven individual looking to start or progress their journey as a tradesman/woman.


At SLK we provide a number of the countries leading house builders with multi trade operatives and services to combat their after care maintenance works.

You will be trained within areas of Carpentry & Joinery, Plastering, Basic Bricklaying, Tiling, Decorating & General Property Maintenance.


Ideally you will be at the beginning of your journey or looking to expand on current experience, essentially a young person looking for an opportunity to get onto or climb the career track within construction and within a team and business that only wants the best for you and your future.

Although not officially, we are very much like a family run business.

We are a very close knit team with relationships in and outside of work, we share the same work ethic and standards amongst the group and that is one of many reasons why this would be the perfect place for you to learn and develop.


Requirements to be considered for this position:

  • Hold A Full Diving Licence & Have Access To Own Transport.
  • Under The Age Of 2
  • Be Willing To Travel Across North, East & West Midlands Daily. (Or at least to a morning collection point to vehicle share)
  • Show A Commitment To Building Your Own Tool Kit Throughout The Programme.
  • Upon Completion Of Initial Training 12 Years, Acquire Own Van For Lone Working.

The Position

  • Self Employed (No Holiday/Sick/Pension Pay)
  • Tax Deducted From Source Under CIS Scheme.
  • Solely Work Based Learning, No College Or Formal Qualification. (Nothing Compares To On The Job Learning In Real Life Situations)
  • Working Hours 8:30am 4pm Monday / Friday.
  • Workwear Supplied.
  • Basic Hand Tool Starter Kit Supplied.
Self employment and the above requirements can come across as daunting, especially for someone starting out.


This position is as big of a commitment for you as it is us as a business, brining someone new in to the group and the time that the group will spend dedicated to your training and development.

Wages
Rate to be negotiated upon experience.

Upon completion of your training you will be looking at earning £200+ per day.


With the opportunity of weekend work at increased rates as well as the opportunity to take on your own private work as a self employed trade.
