Can you see yourself joining a growing team as General Ledger Assistant, supporting several upcoming and exciting projects?We are currently seeking a General Ledger Assistant to join our finance & accounting team, within NHS SBS.
With Understanding of basic accounting principles, practice and terminology and Process Improvement experience, this is an exciting opportunity foryou to join the NHS SBS team.

What you will be doing:
- Prepare and review monthly Interim & Final Reconciliation Packs.
- Prepare and initiate monthly payroll deduction pay overs.
- Run reports, extract data and analyse the data, as the service requires, often using spreadsheets and statistical techniques.
- Respond to, and resolve queries, taking action as appropriate and identify any preventative measures.
- Support line manager and team members.
- Prioritise workloads.
- Ensure that agreed timescales are adhered to.
What you'll bring:
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, practice and terminology.
- Process Improvement experience.
- Experience of writing training notes.
- Good knowledge of Excel to intermediate level.
It would be great if you had:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Identify improvements opportunities.
- AAT qualified or working towards.
