    Description


    Are you an experienced Sales / Estimating Engineer with CNC Machining knowledge? Can you produce quotations to deadlines, successfully plan machining operation sequences and understand and identify efficient machining methods?Our client is a long-established, reputable and family-run engineering company.

    They work within a number of sectors, including Aerospace, F1, Oil & Gas and Defense. They're now looking to recruit a Sales Estimator to join their sales team in Leighton Buzzard.

    As Sales Estimator, you will be responsible for providing technical estimates for incoming work, and liaising closely with customers, suppliers, and the company's production team, to ensure accurate estimates are provided.

    This role would suit an experienced estimator, or previously experienced CNC machinist, who is looking for a new challenge in an office environment and apply their excellent IT skills and experience to a customer-focused role.

    ResponsibilitiesReceive, review and reply to Customer RFQ's and their engineering drawingsCreate timely and accurate estimates and quotations from customer enquiriesProcessing customer enquiries through our quotation processLiaising with customers over the phone and via email, regarding technical and non-technical questions, providing a client-centric serviceProducing quotations to deadlines – estimating all machining, materials, and inspection timesUnderstand and identify machining methods of manufacture and select accurate cycle times (CNC Turning & Boring experience a distinct advantage)Reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings and creating accurate process plansLiaise with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure accuracy and feasibilitySource supplier/subcontractor quotations, developing new and existing supplier relationships Skills and ExperienceExtensive experience in precision engineering is required with extensive knowledge of machine capabilities/machining practicesThe ability to read and translate technical drawings is essentialAccuracy and attention to detail is key to successComputer literacy is essentialAn excellent working knowledge of mechanical engineeringExcellent interpersonal, communicative, listening, and negotiation skillsCommitment and drive to enhance the performance of the businessAbility to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a teamEffective time management skills with the ability to prioritiseResilience when working to fixed deadlines HoursYou'll be working Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.30pm but extra hours may be required if needed to fulfil your duties.
