Are you an Estimator that specializes in structural, piping, mechanical or processing fields?
Then this is the role for you Estimator - Service and Major Projects
Based in Adelaide (Wingfield), SA and reporting directly to the Estimation Manager you will take full responsibility for all aspects of tender preparation, coordination, review, cost estimating & cost reporting, with the aim of delivering innovative solutions for customers whilst maintaining Weir Minerals high technical standards.
Supporting clients both nationally & across the Asia - Pacific region, you will utilize your experience to bring a truly seamless process to our mining and quarries industries estimating requirements with a strong focus on Weir's Linatex rubber lining products.
You will take a proactive, leadership approach to developing and delivering winning commercial models that both enhance current customer relationships and contribute to the successful growth of the customer base and margins.
Key Duties, but not limited to:
- Read & interpret scope documents, drawings & detailed specifications.
- Prepare estimates, labour cost calculations and cost estimates for all tenders and required quoting.
- Partake in pre-submission tender reviews with senior management and adjust costings as required.
- Participate in hand-over of successful tenders/quotes to the Operations and Supporting teams
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated team player and willingness to assist other areas of the business as required.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to work autonomously with a focus on client solutions & needs
- Maintain pricing files and databases.
- Manage multiple quotes/projects at a time to meet deadlines
Skills and experience- Minimum Cert IV Trade background in Fabrication or Diploma in Engineering or 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience- Experience of 5+ years in estimating and quoting with sound knowledge of steel platework & piping disciplines.- Proven experience in a business development environment and in-depth understanding of the estimating development process.- Commitment to continuous improvements and innovation but able work to the requirements of the governance system.- Sound knowledge/use of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and MS Project- Experience with Expert Estimation & Bluebeam Revu desirable but not essential- Excellent time management, organisational and multi-tasking skills.- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high levels of customer service.
