    .NET Software Engineer | C#, .NET, SQL | GIS Software Company

    Our client, a 35-person, 30-year-old geography information system (GIS) and web mapping software development company is looking to hire a junior .NET Software Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with at least one year of development experience and an interest in working with product development, including customisation and project-based enhancements.

    The role would involve looking after our client's apps as part of their core development team. You will work with commercial and customer departments to gather requirements for new features, support app usage, keep up to date with industry trends, and ultimately influence the future direction of their app development. Once up to speed, you will get ownership of their applications one by one and start to make decisions about implementing new cutting edge technology to the team, e.g., upgrading their .NET framework. The role would be suitable for a .NET Software Engineer with at least one year of production experience with technologies like C#, .NET, VB.NET, SQL, and more.

    They are headquartered in Stevenage. However, this is a remote first role and you can be home-based in the UK so long as you can get to the office a maximum of twice a month. You will be required to travel to their office in the last stage of the hiring process.

    Essential Skills:

    • C#, .NET, VB.NET, WCF, WPF
    • SQL - handling large volumes of data
    • BSc in Computer Science or related degree/experience

    Beneficial Skills:

    • Understanding or interest in map data and GIS
    • Familiarity with Statistics
    • Experience with multiple non .NET languages like Python / JS / Rust etc.
