    Role: Research Director - Communities, Work & Income
    Location:     London (Hybrid working)
    Salary: Dependent on Experience
    Department: Public Policy & Global - Communities, Work & Income
    Contract: Full Time

    About the Communities, Work and Income team:The Communities Work and Income team holds an exciting portfolio of work. We work for a range of clients, delivering impactful research that is used to inform key policies. Our clients include the HMRC, DESNZ, DfT, and BSI. We work on mixed methods projects, quantitative research, qualitative research, evaluations and Rapid Evidence Reviews. We are a growing and ambitious team, and we are looking for an individual who will contribute to our growth and consolidate the business we already hold by delivering excellent research.

    The Role:

    The Research Director will lead new business generation and the delivery of our research; working with NatCen research teams, our academic partners and consultants across all stages of the research process.

    The Communities Work and Income team works across policy areas, including the labour market, welfare and taxation, communities and volunteering, transport and infrastructure and energy, environment and climate change.

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Have a proven record of delivering high quality social research and leading on multiple projects at any given time.
    • Have experience working on energy, environment and climate change focused research;
    • Be a mixed-methods researcher; with direct experience designing and leading qualitative and quantitative projects.
    • Be a strong proposal writer, with demonstrable experience of winning work.
    • Be excellent at analysis, report writing and communicating research outputs in different formats, including presenting to senior audiences.
    • A proven track record of managing and delivering high-quality studies and helping to ensure their delivery to time and budget.
    • Have strong project management skills and be able to work well under pressure and to manage competing deadlines effectively.
