MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit 3 x Service Charge Officers to join a fantastic Housing Provider based in London.

This is a temporary contract, offering flexible working from both office and home.

You will work as part of a team of Service Charge Officers responding to service charge enquiries and complaints by investigating issues raised by customers.

Work with teams across the business collating necessary documents and explanations, and responding to customers, in line with relevant Policies and terms of tenancy or lease agreements.

Carry out any adjustment to service charges following investigations and provide feedback to teams to ensure errors of miscoding do not re-occur.

Duties:

Identify service charge queries and complaints allocated to team and resolve within service level agreement.
Work with a range of business teams to obtain necessary documents and explanations to fully respond to query/ complaint, whilst keeping the customer always updated on progress
Formulating coherent response to queries/ complaints, ensuing all points raised are addressed and supported with necessary documentation e.g. lease/ tenancy agreements, invoices, third party management agents budgets, and explain any adjustments required to their service charges;
Carry out any adjustment required to service charges by posting correcting entries into ERP system
Ensure that errors in coding are identified to avoid repetition, and charges remain relevant for cost allocation pools (blocks & estates)
Ensure that service charge estimates, and actual costs are in line with previous years charges; supported by invoices and/ or budgets from managing agents; and tenancy/ lease agreements

Experience Required:

Experience of calculating rents and service charges (including variable service charges) within a Social Housing environment
Knowledge of property management and experience of calculating and issuing property charges, including services and rents.
Extensive knowledge of leases, tenancies, legislation and case law in relation to service charges and rents.
Sound knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements around Rent and Service Charges
Experience of using a service charge and/or finance system
