    The Principal AI/ML Engineer will join a dynamic team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers working within the Data Science and ML Capability Center (CC) in the Information, Data, and Analytics (IDA) team/IT Digital Engineering VPship. This role involves creating and deploying data science solutions/products in an agile manner to meet the demands of various business sectors. The focus is on maintaining Shell's quality standards when producing digital solutions.

    What's the role

    As a Principal AI Engineer, you will play a key role in initiating, developing, and delivering data science solutions in an agile approach to provide insights for business enhancement. You will manage data, merge data sources, ensure data consistency, create visualizations for better comprehension, build mathematical models, and effectively communicate data insights and findings through dashboards.

    Moreover, your responsibilities include:
    • Lead a portfolio or programs in IDA
    • Lead a small team of AI Engineers dedicated to the project
    • Collaborate with the Data Science and ML team to deploy models using innovative technologies for Shell use cases
    • Establish core infrastructure covering feature engineering, model training, deployment, monitoring tools, and more
    • Automate the AI/ML workstream from data analysis to visualization
    • Work closely with Infrastructure, data engineering, and DevOp teams to enhance deployment velocity
    • Translate product requirements into machine learning architectures with Product Management
    • Stay updated on new technologies, enhance Agile practices, and build strong relationships with academia and industry
    • Contribute to community building initiatives like CoE, CoP
    What we need from you

    We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
    • Extensive experience in Machine Learning with proficiency in Python, R, Kubernetes, and more
    • Strong system design skills for large Machine Learning Applications
    • Hands-on experience in designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning solutions using Azure Machine Learning Services
    • Proficiency in application development, deployment on Kubernetes, and cloud Application Development using AWS or Azure
    • Experience in automated CI/CD pipeline setup
    • Ability to work with data scientists and build auto-scaling ML systems
    • Competency in data engineering and storage tools like S3, RDS, EFS, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, etc.
    • Knowledge of Infrastructure creation using Terraform, Helm
    • Expertise in distributed computing and model training
    • Strong skills in designing workflow and Orchestration systems
    • Desire to stay updated with industry trends and technologies
    • Proficiency in applying ML algorithms to time series forecasting
    • Experience in scripting and operating systems
    • Excellent communication skills for collaboration
    • Nice to have skills:
    • Experience in leading small teams and running programs
    • Data engineering skills using cloud native tools
    • Designing ML applications with Sagemaker/Google Vertex AI
    • Front-end application development using React
    • Application development using .Net/c#
    • Desire for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends
    • Experience in applying ML algorithms to various technologies
