Main Purpose of Job:


Carry out the coordination of welding/fabrication work in connection with the repair/modification of construction plant and equipment, used within the rail and construction industry.

To control all welding activities, and ensure the steel structures meet the adequate levels of mechanical resistance, stability, serviceability and durability.

You will be responsible for carrying out all work required to ensure the smooth running of your assigned tasks.


Employee shall work in accordance with Company guidelines adhering to and fulfilling the requirements of all network rail standards and complying with Health, Safety and environmental legislation and procedures.


Principle Duties:


  • Coordinate the approval and creation of weld maps, audits and inspections
  • Manage all welding activities ensuring compliance to the correct standard is always maintained. Alongside management of nonconformance and corrective actions
  • Managing all external and internal audits in the weld facility
  • Inspection and testing before, during and after welding
  • Review of technical and contractual requirements
  • Ensure all welding operations carried out are executed in a manner which meets the requirements of customers
  • Control of materials and welding consumables
  • Ensure all records and qualifications are in line with BS EN 150 standards
  • Observe and comply with correct Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy and all Network Rail standards at all times
  • Conduct and complete duties to a high standard and always maintain a professional approach to customers and employees

Required Skills:


  • PCN in DPI & MPI level 2 qualification

Desired Skills:


  • Welding Inspector level 2 qualification

Salary:

Salary is negotiable depending on experience

£16.43-£17.25 per hour

Education:


  • GCSE or equivalent (required)

Experience:


  • Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC): 2 years (required)
