    Responsibilities

    The Commercial Director (Quantity Surveying) will ensure successful implementation and delivery of the company's commercial strategy. This role will lead the commercial and teams within company processes and requirements.

    The Commercial Director will commercially lead on €multi million European business. They will maximise the financial effectiveness and profitability of the business through diligent application of agreed commercial practices, with the careful management of risk from tender stage through to final completion. This will include strategy, main and subcontract tender procurement, risk management, pre and post contract, margin improvement and people development.

    Job Responsibilities

    To lead a commercial, QS management team across several European project delivery locations including Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Finland. Overseeing and leading the commercial function through all stages – ensuring the teams effectively deliver bids, contracts, preconstruction, procurement. Oversee and successfully lead the teams managing commercial delivery and post contract activities.

    Knowledge and experience

    • Background in commercial leadership, as a Senior Commercial Manager (QS) or Commercial Director (QS) with the associated professional qualifications.
    • Experience of working in a European main contracting business and of working on large construction projects in multiple sectors. Multi-project management leadership and client engagement experience. Proven experience of operating at a strategic and tactical level in a dynamic business environment with proven examples of achievements. Dynamic and successful track record of working in a high-growth business. Track record of achieving commercial leadership targets. Complex stakeholder management experience.

    Location and Travel Requirements

    The ideal location for candidates would be the Netherland however candidates could be based in Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Italy, Finland or Spain. European travel will be expected with work, typically spending a few days a week working away at different European locations on project delivery sites. Project delivery requirements and project deadlines will have an impact on the time spent away. Full subsistence and accommodation allowances will be paid for working away from home.

    Candidates will have easy access to a main European hub airport.
