The Client

Brightwork are supporting our client, a leader in scientific research, with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer to join their established team.

The Role - Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for the upkeep of various buildings, including offices, laboratories, and research facilities.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard office hours. 1/4 On-call rota paid at a premium rate

Work Location: In person

Key Responsibilities:

Perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
Maintain and repair heating and ventilation systems.
Conduct maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessment, and Method Statements.
Demonstrate proficiency in Planned Preventative Maintenance.
Address emergencies and unplanned problems promptly.
Collaborate with a small team of in-house engineers to ensure smooth operations across buildings and facilities.
Ensure high standards of workmanship and adherence to regulations.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding maintenance activities and requirements.

Experience Required:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance environment.
Proficiency in Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessment, and Method Statements.
Experience in maintenance and repairs of heating and ventilation systems.
Competence in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and handling emergencies and unplanned repairs.
SVQ or City Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline.
