Clinical Research is the scientific study of health and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness.

Not only is it important for scientific advancement but it has been proven that involvement in clinical research improves patient outcomes.

In Newcastle and our wider community, we have all the necessary ingredients to develop and deliver excellent clinical research.

In an average year we recruit in excess of 10,000 research participants into a broad range of research studies and trials.

These are supported by over 350 members of staff who are specifically employed to facilitate their successful set up and delivery.


The Study Support Assistant is an integral member of the Stroke Clinical Research Delivery Team, based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to support the administration and data management within the Stroke Research Team.


  • Interview Date 01/06/202 30 Hours/Week


This post holder will support the multi disciplinary team with providing general office duties and data management entry, dealing with telephone calls, organsing departmental meetings and assisting in the preparation of study documentation and maintenance of research databases and records.

The post holder will deliver high quality administrative support to the development and implementation of clinical research programmes within the Research Team.

Organising regular departmental research meetings, assisting in the preparation of study documentation and maintenance of research databases and records.


The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that departmental research activities are undertake in line with current research governance regulations.
