Lecturer Practitioners - Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom - University of East Anglia

    Default job background
    Description

Our School is a vibrant community committed to delivering excellent teaching in Biomedicine that results in the highest levels of student satisfaction.

We have an opportunity for a talented lecturer to organise and teach on our Biomedical Scientist degree Apprenticeship programme.

The role will include liaising with NHS hospital Trusts, being a contact point for the apprentices, delivering face-to-face and remote teaching to the apprentices (they will have access to a lot of online materials), and the setting and marking of assessments.

As well as lecturing, leading seminars and overseeing practical assessments, you will prepare new teaching material, organise taught modules, encourage excellent admissions to the School through participation in recruitment events and outreach activities, and contribute significantly to student pastoral support.

Applicants should have a PhD in a related field. You will have potential to deliver university teaching that is research-led, innovative, and creates high levels of student satisfaction. You may, but not necessarily have, experience as a senior biomedical/clinical scientist.

This full-time post is available from 1 August 2024 on a fixed term basis for five years.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List.

It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We strongly encourage applicants from women and all those from Black, Asian or other minority ethnic backgrounds and welcome applications from all protected groups as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.

Further information on our great benefits package, including 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days can be found on our benefits page.

The University holds an Athena Swan Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality.
