    Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Exciting Opportunity at Reed Engineering

    Job Type: Full-time, Shift Work (including on-call for emergencies) | Location: Medway | Salary: £38,000 - £45,000

    We are looking for a dedicated Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to be part of our dynamic engineering team at Reed Engineering. Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and timely completion of maintenance tasks and projects. This position involves shift work, including on-call duties to handle emergency breakdowns and shutdown periods.

    Day to Day Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

    • Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities on time, providing valuable feedback for system improvements.
    • Ensure smooth handover of ongoing activities with the opposite shift Engineer daily.
    • Share expertise to contribute to the continuous enhancement of plant, machinery, and maintenance operations.
    • Strive to boost equipment performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
    • Carry out equipment repairs safely while keeping Production informed of progress.
    • Execute remedial engineering works as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
    • Identify and communicate any equipment or site safety hazards to the Manager promptly.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Engineer to ensure contractors comply with site Health and Safety regulations.

    Required Skills & Qualifications of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Electrical Installation 18th Edition.
    • Hands-on experience in Electrical Installation Maintenance.
    • Capability in Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.
    • Skilled in electronic fault finding up to component level.
    • Strong attention to detail and effective decision-making skills.

    Education/Experience of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

    • Hold a recognized qualification relevant to the role (e.g., mechanical or electrical City & Guilds).
    • Proficient in both Electrical and Mechanical trades; apprenticeship with indentures is preferred.
    • Familiarity with other engineering fields like pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems is a plus.
