Junior Risk Oversight & Control Officer


Location:
London (hybrid)


Scope and Purpose of the Role:

The Junior Risk Oversight & Control Officer will work in a small team of 1LoD risk specialists to implement the risk framework across all business lines in the UK, including the Asset Based Finance subsidiary.

They will report into the Head of Process & Control.

They may be required to also support other P&C team members with administration tasks, Power Point presentations and other ad-hoc tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

The duties of the Junior Risk Oversight & Control Officer will include but not be restricted to the following activities:

  • Assist the Head of UK P&C with the administrative activities relating to the day-to-day operating efficiency of the function
  • Support 1LoD risk specialists in duties relating to the risk framework including undertaking monitoring of key risk controls and delivery of the risk instruments in line with ABN AMRO policy
  • Deliver accurate and concise complaints management reporting to the relevant UK governance forum & NL complaints team
  • Own the Product Approval process, ensuring process documents reflect any updates / improvements
  • Take responsibility for completion of business risk dashboards and collate business input for the conduct dashboard
  • Contribute to ensuring demonstrable adherence to policies relating to license to operate activities
  • Assist the Head of UK P&C with the administrative activities relating to the day-to-day operating efficiency of the function
  • As required, support all members of the P&C team in their duties to ensure efficient completion of tasks

Skills/Experience Required:


  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • A willingness to learn and undertake a variety of tasks in relation to the efficient operating of the first line of defence function, supporting all team members but with a specific focus on nonfinancial risk management
  • Knowledge of risk management within a relevant degree or previous work experience would be highly beneficial
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent service orientation
  • Ability to manage own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for shortterm work activities
  • Good credibility, trustworthiness, problem solving, task management and selfmanagement competencies
  • Be able to think laterally
  • Excellent team player with a strong focus on working together to achieve results
  • Ability to work with discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to interact professionally and with credibility with all levels of the organisation (internal and external as necessary)
  • Excellent facetoface, telephone, and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with working in an environment of change, with flexible approach to new challenges
