Description

Working closely with the Head of Organisational Change and HR colleagues to plan, manage and implement organisational change projects across the Forestry Commission.

A permanent and hybrid position based in Bristol. 37 hours per week. Salary is £38,842.


Client Details

The company are responsible for the management of publicly owned forests,and the regulation of both public and private forestry in England.

Description
Organisational Development Manager

The overall purpose of the job is to lead Organisational Development (OD) projects that include,

  • Strategic workforce planning, ensuring the company has the right baseline management information to make informed decisions on size, shape and deployment of its current staff.
  • Develop plans based upon evidence for the workforce of the future in the short, medium and longer term based upon the company's organisational priorities and ambitions.
  • Workforce policy coordinator liaising with workforce policy owners so that policies may reflect legislation changes and good practice (from sources such as CSEP, CIPD, Defra). Devise best practice governance arrangements to track and report ensuring thecompany has a suite of modern, legally compliant workforce policies for ease of use by all.
  • Senior level recruitment activities for the OD and CEO office including working with OD director on Senior Civil Service appointments and directly with company's CEO.
  • Lead for job evaluations for the small OD team.
  • Provision of adhoc senior HR advice on sensitive Employee Relations matters within the OD team and within the CO team.
  • People Strategy KPI reporting
- ensuring all yearly objectives are updated by objective owners and lead discussions at OD Senior Leadership Team meetings and monthly OD team meetings on delivery, including barriers to delivery. Responsible for the provisionof annual reports to the Executive Board against progress.

  • Gathering relevant information about projects being delivered across the organisation, to help us better coordinate and prioritise organisational change
  • Working with OD and HR teams along with internal stakeholders to identify areas of the organisation that could be improved and making suggestions for implementation.

Person specification

Organisational Development Manager
A successful track record in delivering high quality organisation development and HR improvement initiatives, you will have:

  • Success in delivering strategic workforce plans within complex organisational settings, ensuring the organisation has a steady flow of high-quality talent.
  • Evidence of first class written communication skills, ably writing persuasive and succinct reports and papers for senior leaders.
  • Numerical competent and confident and used to using workforce management information as basis for decision making.
  • Influential interpersonal skills used to implementing change successfully.
  • Successful track record of working confidently with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, especially able to establish purposeful relationships with those outside of HR/OD.
  • Ability to prioritise a busy portfolio and quickly respond to emerging or changing priorities.
  • Project management qualification(s) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • First class IT skills, confident and competent in creative communication methods using IT resources.
  • Full membership of CIPD.
  • Confidence, resilience and drive in dealing with change initiatives and persuading others to positively engage.
