Shift pattern - 7/3, 7/4

Job Overview
Security Supervisor role is extremely significant and empowered. The Supervisor should actively encourage the shift to perform to increasingly higher standards.

This role requires initiative and a proactive approach, and the Supervisor should seek ways in which they can personally enhance the service delivered through systems, policy and procedures.

The Supervisor must lead, motivate and effectively communicate with the other Supervisors, Site Manager and team members to ensure the accurate and timely task delivery.


  • To supervise and direct a team, ensuring delivery of high standard security service
  • To protect our customer's people, property and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites Assignment Instructions (AI's) and Standard Operations Procedures(SOPs).
  • Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
  • To undertake additional training to ensure continuous selfdevelopment.

Main Duties
include, but not limited to:

  • Adhere and ensure to all site/company policies and procedures by all team members.
  • Ensure all duties are completed in compliance with Site Assignment instructions, Risk Assessment and SOPs in a safe manner buy all team members.
  • Emergency response, Incident management, Alarm monitoring.
  • Debrief the team after every critical incident and identify to management any lessons learnt or areas of good practice.
  • Carry out routine and spot checks with all officers for compliance, conduct regular 121, welfare meetings, appraisals.
  • To demonstrate leadership, monitor team's performance and conduct.
  • To ensure an effective handover of shift, and documentation.
  • To be responsible for the security, safety and welfare of anyone visiting or working on site, respond to all First Aid incidents.
  • To protect the assets in the building by maintaining a vigilant, proactive security presence to minimize security risks to people and property.
  • Promptly report and escalate all system faults and call outs as required.
  • Proactive monitoring of all control room systems, ensuring that all necessary actions/ procedures are followed and escalated when required: Systems include, CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarms, PA systems.
  • Ensure the task completion by agreed deadlines and documented accordingly.
  • Ensure that all equipment is serviceable and in good working order for the roles and responsibilities under your direct supervision
  • Ensure that all accidents, incidents or 'near misses' are investigated and reported immediately to Mitie and the Management Team
  • Coordinate the training of new staff in line with site and company requirements ensuring the appropriate training area's are documented and signed for.
  • Support the management and delivery of the staff rostering.
  • Ensure all staff fully understand the emergency procedures for the building and their role in the evacuation plan.
  • Ensure all posts are correctly manned at the designated times.
  • Proactively check that the team are completing their activities in accordance with the Assignment Instructions and Risk Assessments.
  • Contribute to ways of improving service delivery to our clients and customers by not accepting the 'norm'.
  • Carry out any AdHoc and comply with any "Reasonable Request" made by Managers or WTW Management.

  • Previous experience of working in a Security Supervision role
