***Reporting to the site Head of HR the successful incumbent will perform human resource-related functions at a professional level. It requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. This position must be sensitive to employee goodwill as well as the business needs of Tecomet. This position focuses primarily on the areas of employee relations, talent management, performance management, change management, recruitment, employee engagement and retention. This is accomplished by maintaining Tecomet's principles of Continuous Improvement, Customer Driven Innovation, and a Win First Culture.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide advice and guidance on all people related issues across all levels of the site
  • Ensure the business manages its people effectively, adopting best practice and complying with company values and employment legislation
  • Coach and support managers & supervisors to manage their teams successfully
  • Manage the outsourced OCC Health function (appointments/follow ups)
  • Work closely with Payroll on changes to employee records for both weekly and monthly paid employees
  • Manage the employee onboarding process ( communications/employment contracts/induction/ right to work checks/job training/transition into new role, probation reviews)
  • Manage the employee off boarding process (exit interviews, communications, paperwork)
  • Keep up to date with current ER and legislation, HR business trends and advise stakeholders accordingly.
  • Support on wellbeing initiatives
  • Ensures that diversity and inclusion practices are recognized, adopted, and integrated into recruitment strategies
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Administers the cyclical merit review and PDR process
  • Supports the employee relations agenda in its entirety (disciplines/grievances/attendance and capability)
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Supports the delivery of the people strategy, focusing on attracting talent, identifying & developing the stars of tomorrow, employee risk mitigation.
  • Manage the Absence Management and Time & Attendance system
  • Produce professional HR reports for management and Board meetings
  • Work closely with the HSE and quality functions on all employee related matters
  • Drives the employee life cycle as a road map to employee engagement & retention
  • Understand and support ethics, business conduct and compliance training programs

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES_

  • Demonstrated exposure to and the execution of recruitment processes for blue collar and officebased positions along with the ability to evaluate and select talent
  • Knowledge of payroll and pension processes will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of modern apprenticeships and partnerships with local institutes and universities will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of IIP workplace accreditations and ISO standards would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of compensation benchmarking
  • You will have experience operating within a bluecollar workforce such as engineering, manufacturing, distribution
  • Knowledge of skillsbased pay and skills matrices
  • Ability to handle all situations in a consistent, professional, and confidential manner.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource procedures, policies, and legislation.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, customerfocused environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
