We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Buildings Services Maintenance to lead our Infrastructure Maintenance Services, and Plant & Distribution Teams.
As the Head of Buildings Services Maintenance, you will be responsible for all aspects of planned & reactive maintenance, repair, rectification, and inspection in line with Nexus Engineering Technical & Safety, Assurance & Security Standards.
Additionally, you will lead the Building Services teams in minor Capital works in agreement with the Infrastructure & Major Projects Director.
This newly created role reports to the Infrastructure Director.This role is responsible for leading the Infrastructure Maintenance Services (Civils), and Plant & Distribution Teams, in all aspects of planned & reactive maintenance, repair, rectification, and inspection in accordance with Nexus' technical and safety standards.
It is essential the post holder has the required technical and safety knowledge and experience but in addition, the successful person must be able to demonstrate values and behaviours that prioritise dignity and respect alongside promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Buildings Services Maintenance Service Area.
- Champion diversity and inclusion, creating a climate of equality, inclusion, and respect
- Ensure the functionality of the Infrastructure Directorate is prioritized in terms of Safety, Legislative Compliance, Service Reliability, Station Presentation, and Sustainability.
- Lead investigations related to technical, safety, contractual, and other matters, producing professional output reports and promoting learning from these investigations.
- Represent Nexus at senior, industry, or stakeholder meetings as required by the Infrastructure Director.
Key Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety Qualification
- Knowledge & experience of the Buildings Services & Railway Industry with particular reference to Safety Regulations, Railway Group Standards, Regulatory and Consumer benefit requirements
- Knowledge of Buildings Services Engineering Asset Data Management
- Proven financial management skills, able to set and manage effectively within budget constraints
Experience, Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent planning, performance management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrable experience of Buildings Services maintenance at Management level
- Demonstrable experience of Buildings Services maintenance at Senior Management level
- Capable of strategic business planning and managing business change
- Proven leadership development and people & performance management ability
- Ability to make autonomous decisions and be able to support your outcomes
- Experienced within a customerfocused culture that drives business performance improvements
- Selfreliant, able to work under own initiative and independence
- Ability to write professional reports to an excellent standard
- IT literate in Microsoft Office, and general software, including the ability to create spreadsheets and format documents
- Proven track record of staff recruitment, development, and succession planning
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and contract management skills
- Member of a relevant professional body linked to the asset management profile of this role or can provide evidence that membership can be obtained within an agreed period after appointment
- Ability to work closely with other agencies and emergency services
