SQL DATABASE DEVELOPER

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000

HYBRID

We are looking at recruiting 2 SQL server database developers within the Pricing / Billing team to facilitate knowledge transfer of an existing MSSQL server database solution.

We are an innovative and market leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.

We operate a Hybrid working policy so you will be able to flex between working in the office and your home location to carry out this role. but during your initial training period the need to be in office full time with other team members will be essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a SQL Developer at ESG you will be responsible for:

Analyze, understand, & document existing database solutions as part of knowledge transfer between teams.
Design, develop, tune an existing database solution for optimal performance and throughput.
Design /develop database solutions inline with data retention policies.
Help troubleshooting operational service impacting issues / failure and root cause investigation and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate essentials:

5+ years working experience supporting with MS SQL Server.
At least 2 years of commercial experience working with C# .NET Core.
Experience with CI/CD technologies and practices.
Good Security awareness and understanding of best practices within SQL and related security features.
Proficient with using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Experience with table partitioning & data purging techniques and designing databases to meet retention policies.
Experience with MySQL.
Good understanding of the internal workings of MSSQL including managing concurrency & locking.
Experience in implementing Memory Optimized tables and features.
Excellent documentation skills.
Experience with AWS and working with MSSQL in RDS and on EC2 instances.
