Production Supervisor

Permanent

Bedford

Salary - £26,520 pa (£27,846 after probation)

Hours - Monday to Friday 8:00 to occasional evening or Saturday work)

As first line management, the Production Supervisors will be responsible for 6 key elements:

Production Planning
on a weekly and daily basis
Productivity/Profitability of work on a job by job/client by client basis
People management including training, development, performance management, etc
Stock management/inventory control on a clientbyclient basis and across their area/unit as a whole
Interdepartmental communication and reporting
Quality in all the above areas and including LEAN

As such it is the Supervisor's job to verify whether the allocation of time and resource to any element of the work is correct.

They can do this by interrogating the costs, the client management team, and the forecast and actual hours, to help continuouslyrefine and development to resource allocation.

They are responsible for ensuring that, for the work that falls within their area, the business plans/allocates.
- the right amount of people/time
- the right amounts of space
- the key components of the work

The Supervisors (acting collaboratively) are responsible for all aspects of people management including, but not necessarily restricted to:

selection/appointment

- support, training/development
- holiday and sickness absence management
- disciplinary management

Improvement notice level meetings and some disciplinary meetings

It is the responsibility of the Supervisor to ensure that their work area is well-managed

This includes ensuring that:
- all client stock is correctly located
- stock is managed to avoid damage and wastage
- stock is correctly reported
- that the area is kept clean and tidy and LEAN
