This Big 4 Giant is looking for experienced Assistant Managers and Managers to join this firm Nationally, with opportunities in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

As a Consultant you will provide a comprehensive range of services, from assisting clients with support on M&A projects, to complex consultancy assignments, strategic tax advice and in meeting with their compliance and reporting obligations.

You will work with the team and the overseas offices to provide innovative yet pragmatic advice.

Your role

As a Consultant or Associate Director in our Corporate Tax team you will have ample opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge across the wider business tax area.

Your role will be truly varied involving a range of tax advisory and compliance areas including M&A, complex tax advisory projects and tax compliance and reporting work.

This means you will have the opportunity to enhance your generalist technical skills andknowledge.

This group of around 60 tax practitioners focuses on international groups involved in oil and gas production, mining, power generation, renewable energy and commodity trading, as well as a variety of other major corporate clients working in a range of industrieson a truly global basis.

Responsibilities:


  • Leading M&A projects, which will encompass undertaking tax due diligence, tax structuring and assisting companies with IPOs
  • Delivering complex UK and cross border tax advice
  • Dealing with HM Revenue and Customs on technical matters
  • Tax accounting, tax compliance and tax audit support
  • Working closely with our transactional services team as well as transfer pricing and VAT technical specialists
  • Being instrumental in maintaining and building client relationships
  • Supporting the development of junior staff

Your professional experience

  • ACA/CTA Qualification or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience of working on M&A transactions and having strong UK Corporate Tax skills and exposure to working with other UK tax and international teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as sound written and oral skills
  • Experience of developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture
