- Manage and develop the existing PPM System, install, and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to maximise equipment reliability and minimise unplanned downtime.
- Perform repairs and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with the production team to plan maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialised repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including costs, repair logs, and equipment history records.
- Conduct regular inspections on the facility, machinery and fabrication tools to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in maintenance to enhance efficiency and optimise equipment performance.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in plant maintenance.
- The proven ability to work safely and productively in the absence of close supervision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience as a Maintenance Engineer or a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with senior team members and external service providers.
- Time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations (18th edition) and protocols.
- Certification in maintenance-related areas such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and standards related to plant maintenance, such as ISO 9001.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
