We are looking to offer a
Plant Fitter the opportunity to join our expanding
Operations team based in
Castleford.

About the team


The Operations team is made up of ten people and we carry out essential maintenance and prep for hire of plant, fleet and accommodation.

This is for our internal customers within group.

We are a motivated team and share knowledge to help get the tasks complete everyone is a valuable member of the team.


About the role


We're looking for people who are self-motivated, flexible, effective communicators who pride themselves in working to high-standards to provide high-levels of customer service.

You will hold a recognised apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in engineering either working with LCV's, HGV's or Plant equipment are preferred.

Ideally you will be experienced in LCV, Construction plant, material handling or ancillary equipment. You will be conversant with a range of disciplines along with strong diagnostic and electrical systems capabilities. However we can provide training for any areas you are looking to develop in.

As the Plant Fitter, you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to plant
  • Fault diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical faults found
  • Ensure Health & Safety and good working practices within the workshop are followed
  • Completion of work is via a PDA device to ensure electronic work records
  • Carry out minor and major repairs as directed
  • Identification and capture of damaged plant at the depot
  • Daytoday communication across plant office, yard and workshop functions
  • Ensure that all M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions 'Safely, Healthy, Environmental & Quality'(SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to, adopting a safe method of working at all times

What you'll bring?

  • Fully qualified plant technician to NVQ3 or equivalent through a recognised training scheme
  • Experience of working on plant
  • Competent use of company IT and diagnostic tooling
  • Driving Licence essential


  • Forklift Licence

  • Training will be given
  • General plant electrics knowledge is desirable
