    Teacher of History – Lewisham – High Performing School– September 2024

    Are you a talented and motivated History Teacher looking for a new and exciting opportunity?

    This exceptional Secondary School is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious, and creative Teacher of History to join our successful Humanities Faculty from September 2024. We would welcome applications from ECTs as well as from experienced colleagues.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a large and forward-thinking Faculty team, offering courses across the age and ability range, up to and including 'A' level. The Faculty achieves excellent exam results and we would welcome someone who will contribute to this success.

    The Role – Teacher of History

    • Teacher of History (Secondary)
    • To teach a number of classes of varying ages and abilities
    • To plan and prepare lessons appropriate to the different abilities of students, including students with special educational needs
    • To teach within the Department/Faculty as required and, where appropriate, to the whole 11-16 range
    • To follow the department/Faculty scheme of work
    • To assist the faculty in preparation of resources and the scheme of work
    • To prepare coursework for moderation purposes, where appropriate
    • Inner London MPS- UPS

    Person Specification - Teacher of History

    • Qualified Teacher Status (obtained in the UK)
    • Evidence of a balanced programme of training relating to the specialist subject
    • Evidence of a good understanding of the National Curriculum in the subject specialism in Key Stages 3 and 4
    • Good numeracy and literacy skills
    • Record of success as a classroom teacher or in the case of an NQT, in teaching practice
    • Evidence of a commitment to play a full and active part in the life of the school
    • Good understanding and ability to use relevant equipment / technology
    • Ability to relate well to children and to adults
    • Has a friendly yet professional and respectful approach
