The Role: Hygiene Manager
To manage, develop and lead the site Hygiene team(s) to effectively deliver an operationally excellent factory in line with all compliance, customer and statutory requirements.
Shift pattern:
It's 5 day week (days only) but 1 Saturday per month for a deep clean with a day in lieu due to that being our main shut down day for maintenance and cleaning.
Salary dependant on experience £46k - £55k
We are currently recruiting Hygiene Front Line Manager This is amazing opportunity to join our global food manufacturing site Erith
Role Purpose:
To manage, develop and lead the site Hygiene team(s) to effectively deliver an operationally excellent factory in line with all compliance, customer and statutory requirements.
●Key Accountabilities
Ensuring hygiene activities supports the quality agenda, Managing the maintenance of the cleanliness of the production and ancillary areas.
Managing and developing the hygiene Master Schedule, ensuring all activities are completed in a timely manner and supporting the reducing foreign body complaints. Ensuring there is enough resource to deliver an acceptable cleaning standard. Proactive resource management
Manages the mould reduction plan through robust hygiene activities.
Ensuring any incident which could compromise product quality is escalated to the appropriate level.
Ensure the equipment is maintained and available for colleague use, ensuring there is enough resource not to cause undue risk to product quality. Responsible for overseeing the monitoring of bulk sieve CCP by checking sieve integrity and tailings. In the event of an incident, locking down sieve is completed and the incident vertically escalated.
Ensuring that the overall effectiveness of hygiene tasks is of a sufficient standard as validated through audit and micro surveillance, actioning underperforming areas. Corrective actions are managed and reported
Supporting production through managing hygiene activities such as washing tubs, utensils, trays, lids as well as plant equipment as directed by the schedules.
Horizon scanning for new ways of working, equipment or chemicals.
Ensuring the removal of waste is in a hygienic and controlled manner in accordance with site procedures, authorising waste transfer notes from approved suppliers. Managing the waste system and approving suppliers in accordance with protocols.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
● Extensive knowledge of hygiene and cleaning within a food manufacturing
environment
● Relevant industry experience including experience of legal requirements (manual
handling, safe systems, HACCP etc).
● Preparation of cleaning work instructions
● Good knowledge of pest control procedures
● Good verbal, numerate and writing skills
● Be able to work at heights using Ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts etc
● Full knowledge of COSHH and chemical usage and storage
● Experience of carrying out training
Desirable:
● Advanced food hygiene
● Intermediate HACCP qualification
● Baking knowledge and experience
