Due to our continued service growth and development, King's HSCT Centre is investing in its senior clinical nurse specialist team offering1 Band 7 CNS 12 months fixed term position


Applicants should be experienced Haemato-oncology Nurses with capability to effectively deliver an expert nursing service within the field of HSCT and Cellular Therapies.

Extensive relevant post-registration experience and with related post-registration qualifications in Haematology are essential

Extensive relevant post-registration experience and related post-registration qualifications in Haematology are essential although exceptional applicants who demonstrate a commitment to Stem Cell Transplant nursing will be considered.


You will be joining our established, dynamic team of BMT CNSs, acting as a key link in the patient pathway from the point of referral for transplant, coordinating all preparation activities and providing information and support for the patient and their carers.

You will rotate through the different areas of HSCT co-ordination and also have the opportunity to provide ongoing key worker support to Autologous recipients and their carers during the early post-Transplant recovery phase.

These roles are incorporated within our multidisciplinary Haemto-oncology and BMT team, reporting to the Consultant Nurse (BMT). You will have the opportunities to contribute to the development of the team and provide formal and informal teaching. You will be given educational opportunities and encouraged to participate in audit and activities that promote high quality care.

  • To work as an advanced practitioner and effectively deliver an expert nursing service within the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT)
  • To manage a caseload of patients/clients referred for HSCT
  • To ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported by providing clinical and psychosocial support
  • To deliver evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research, guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • To establish and maintain clear lines of communication within the specialty team, with the multidisciplinary team, referring hospitals, local Cancer Network and tertiary referral centres across the UK, providing advice, support and education where appropriate and to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary management of patients
