Position Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cooperage Operator to join The Macallan Estate.

You will assist the cooperage team with all general tasks as required, including; all cask handling, loading and unloading of vehicles and ensuring that these duties are carried out in a safe and secure manner as per work instructions and procedures.

Job Description
Reporting to the Cask Stock Team Leader, key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Loading casks into vehicles and/or trailers to be sent to customers
  • Handle and manoeuvre empty casks e.g. barrels, butts and puncheons safely.
  • Unloading vehicles and/or trailers from customers
  • Ensure barcode gun used to track cask repairs and cask movements through cask tracking.
  • Stencil and paint casks where necessary
  • Operating equipment such as FLT, tractor/trailer, as required. (Training provided).
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all areas of cooperage
  • Empty Dust extraction unit.
  • Support training of colleagues as required.
  • Ensure safety and quality of work at all times by following documented procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
Skills and Experience

You should be willing and eager to be part of a high performing team, bringing a good work ethic and positive attitude to the role.

Applicants should be comfortable undertaking the manual tasks required within this role and have experience of using various warehouse computer systems.

Ability to operate a forklift, telehandler, tractor and trailer would be desirable.
