A&P Falmouth - Commercial Trainee
We deliver high-quality projects to our clients across the commercial marine, major fabrication and defence sectors.

We are looking for a Commercial Trainee to join our team in this key role as we continue to expand.

It's a great opportunity for someone keen to develop their commercial career.

Maybe you have completed a cadetship or worked as a technical writer and enjoy the challenges of understanding specs and getting the numbers right.

So as a Commercial Trainee at A&P Group, what will you do?

Using your current knowledge of the sector as a starting point, you'll develop into the role learning how to accurately assess project costs
You will be given exposure to a variety of projects and learn ow to collaborate with crossfunctionally to ensure project success
You'll analyse project requirements, specifications, and drawings then with guidance you'll prepare accurate cost estimates
Working with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders you'll find the information you need
You'll learn how to work with tools to calculate material, labour, and equipment costs which will help you to prepare detailed cost breakdowns, proposals, and bid documents
You'll review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
Once up to speed in the role you'll take part in value engineering and costsaving activities

And what are we looking for?

An engineering degree or completion of a cadetship / training program / apprenticeship within the maritime sector which has given you base technical knowledge of vessels
Strong analytical and maths skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
