    Description
    This position is within our highly skilled and knowledgeable Occupational Therapy team within our CQC registered Health dept.

    Occupational Therapy (OT) is an integral part of the Clinical Health Team at Seashell, working closely with our Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Audiology and Nursing teams as well as with Assistive Technologists, Education and Care services.

    The successful Occupational Therapist (OT) will hold a recognised Occupational Therapy (OT) qualification e.g. BSc or MSc and have demonstrable evidence of continued professional development.

    In addition, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will be a registered member of British Association of Occupational Therapists and hold a registration withthe Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

    Here at Seashell, we provide education and care for children and young adults with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties/disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders and autism.

    We have ambitious plans to develop early assessment and intervention services for children and young people with complex needs.

    We are looking to further enhance our workforce to enable us to continue to grow our innovative Occupational Therapy service.

    Seashells strategic plan places strong emphasis on the development of innovative therapy support and early assessment and intervention services.

    The successful candidate will deliver occupational therapy to a caseload of children and young people with a range of complex needs.

    You will be involved in skill development throughout the child or young persons journey at Seashell, allowing time to build a therapeutic relationship with them and all those involved in their care.

    There is huge potential within this post for creativity and professional development. We are seeking an OT who is passionate about supporting our children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.

    Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification e.g. Evidence of continued professional development
    Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
    Experience of working as an Occupational Therapist with children and/or young people with profound and complex learning disabilities and physical disabilities
    Experience of Ayres Sensory Integration Therapy assessment and treatment preferred

    Due to the expansion of the Seashells external health offer we envisage that the majority of work within this post would be within Seashells external health service.

    We are therefore particularly interested to hear from therapists with advanced clinical skills who have supported children and young adults with complex learning needs in a variety of different clinical settings.

    We would also encourage any therapist, from newly qualified to advanced specialist level, who has an interest in working within this clinical area to contact us to discuss how your current skills and experience could complement our outstanding team and welcome you to come to our site for a visit.

    Please state on your application if you are applying for a new qualified (equivalent to NHS band 5), practicing (equivalent to NHS band 6) or Advanced Specialist post (equivalent to NHS Band 7).
