The Role

Nigel Wright are delighted to be exclusively supporting a Educational Trust with their search for a 'floating' administrator to work across all their sites in the Newcastle area.


The role will incorporate the following duties:

  • Maintain records, organise meetings and events in the school as directed.
  • Maintain office systems, diaries and provide information/letters to parents and pupils.
  • Ensure that office machinery, stationery and other office consumables (including basic maintenance of equipment) are ordered in accordance with purchasing procedures.
  • To arrange servicing and repair of school equipment.
  • To prioritise workload when working between the Head Office function and the schools within the trust, using your initiative to structure your day effectively.
  • Collect, record, compile and present data both manually and electronically, in order t maintain a comprehensive, up to date paper and electronic filing and information system, using standard reports, various software and respond to ad hoc queries, whereappropriate.
  • Collate pupils' reports as required.
  • Collecting, accounting for, reconciling and security of petty cash, dinner money, school fund and/or other amounts of cash/expenditure, cheques etc in accordance Financial Regulations. (Schools are now largely cashless)
  • Liaise with staff, parents and external bodies to meet the requirements of the schoo including the provision of reception services, arranging events, work experience placements, eye tests etc.
  • To be adaptable and flexible to work from different locations within the trust, to support in an administrative capacity as an when required including short and long term
- secondment opportunities.

  • The post holder will have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons s/he is responsible for, or comes into contact with.
  • Provide administrative support the School Business Manager or Headteacher as requested.

The Person
We are looking for an experienced administrator who is flexible and adaptable and has their own transport.

  • Confident and approachable, able to build good relationships with colleagues and suppliers to the Trust
  • Good written and communication skills/abilities
  • Adaptable to new situations and happy to respond at short notice to a support need
  • Basic Office 365 sotfware expertise
