    Description

    Junior Database Developer

    Are you a skilled individual passionate about developing and maintaining SQL databases to meet business needs? We have an exciting opportunity with a prominent provider of specialty insurance solutions based in London. Join our client's team and play a vital role in designing and managing their Data Warehouse solution using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack.



    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases aligned with business requirements.
    • Support the enhancement of the existing Data Warehouse solution.
    • Troubleshoot and address database and system-related issues, offering user support.
    • Participate in deploying changes to the Data Warehouse and other systems.
    • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to comprehend and fulfill project needs.
    • Monitor regular processes, pinpoint root cause issues, and escalate issues as required.
    • Create and maintain reusable code following industry best practices.

    Essential Skills:

    • Proficiency in T-SQL, encompassing database schema design, views, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.
    • Familiarity with Data Warehousing design methodologies (Kimball/Star Schema).
    • Experience with Visual Studio or equivalent IDEs.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Background in utilizing source control platforms like Team Foundation Server, GIT, DevOps, or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory and Power BI.
    • Exposure to the insurance sector.
    • General IT support understanding.
