Connect2Luton are excited to recruit for a Business Support Administrator on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Population and Wellbeing department


As a Business Support Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the TA Commissioning Managers Team, to ensure the smooth running of the TA Allocations, Luton Lets Squared and Housing Needs Service.


To be successful in this role you must be able to contribute to give an effective service, overseeing various projects, meeting deadlines and managing information accurately and within the timeframe given.


About the Role

  • Developing and maintaining an excellent understanding of the Service and the responsibilities to provide broad business, administrative and project support for a variety of tasks and issues.
  • Managing large volumes of enquiries daily.
  • Operating an efficient and customer focused manner, including when dealing with clients chasing updates on calls, face to face or electronically.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records.
  • Under the direction of managers, maintain and collate management to information to monitor and meet team and service quality and performance standards.
  • Assist managers in analysing performance reporting and assist with chasing supporting documents, for the TA audits and incentive funds for managers.
  • Support managers and team leaders by coordinating office activities including collating management, budgetary and performance information.
  • Ensure that literature/web pages are current and relevant for Luton Lets Squared.
  • Ensure that the appropriate office systems, procedures, rotas and resources are in place.
  • Undertake the administration of meetings for managers including minute taking and circulating updates.
  • Record and update any checks required by special project tasks in line with specific Regulations. Ensure corporate and departmental procedures are available and kept up to date.

About you

  • Able to meet deadlines and targets, work on own initiative and plan, prioritise and organise workloads.
  • Able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, categorise and prioritise correspondence
with a range of people and able to maintain positive relationships.

  • Able to work accurately under pressure to tight, competing deadlines and to take a flexible approach.
  • Proficient in the use of ICT and customer contact systems, including Microsoft packages, internet, case management systems including purchasing systems.
  • Business Administration level 2, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate experience of dealing with front line enquiries from members of the public by telephone and in person.
  • Able to put together complex information, work in an orderly way and present to customers, partners and colleagues in a clear, brief and attainable manner.
  • Produce customer documentation and case records.
  • Able to travel if required (occasionally).
