    Description

    Suites Hotel & Spa, managed by Compass Hospitality has 101 rooms and suites with extensive spa and leisure facilities. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment across all areas. This is an exciting time to be joining Suites as the hotel will soon be re branded to one of the world's leading hotel chains.

    We are looking for a head housekeeper to lead and direct the overall range of housekeeping and cleaning activities for a business, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, fulfilling business aspirations to achieving and further developing the optimum position in its market.

    Actively participate and contribute positively as a member of the hotel management team.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    1. Lead and direct the housekeeping activities of the company's property, to effectively and efficiently deliver the optimum product in line with business strategy.
    2. Responsible for ensuring that housekeeping teams operate to maximum efficiency, in all aspects of their work, including, but not limited to all guest and public room standards, cleanliness, maintenance, timeliness and correct presentation.
    3. Responsible for the correct interpretation, implementation, adherence and communication of company policies and procedures, e.g. recruitment and selection, discipline, grievance, welfare, attendance and performance etc.
    4. Responsible for issuing room lists and allocation of tasks to room attendants and cleaners on a daily basis and ensure that teams operate to maximum efficiency, in all aspects of their work.
    5. Responsible for the correct interpretation of property occupancy forecasts and the production of efficient and effective staff rosters, ensuring that sufficient staff resources are available to meet the business requirement.
    6. Responsible for the correct completion and timely submission of daily timesheets and the production of a weekly summary of work performed to admin.
    7. Responsible for the ordering and acceptance of invoiced goods (e.g. laundry, toiletries, complimentary tray items and cleaning products).
    8. Responsible for ensuring that security of their particular work area is maintained at all times.
    9. Maintain effective and positive relationships with guests, organisers, suppliers, contractors and staff to develop a positive senior management presence, encouraging discussion and feedback, which will benefit the business.
    10. Ensure excellent communication channels exist which correctly inform staff of all relevant business related matters, including regular team briefings, staff appraisals etc. and receive feedback for the area of their responsibility.
    11. Ensure technical excellence for own area of work.
    12. Ensure full legal compliance, including regular health, safety and hygiene inspections and perform risk assessments. Keep abreast of latest developments and innovations, recommending and implementing changes where necessary.
    13. Participate actively in induction training, cross-training, performance management and development of your staff.
    14. Effective liaison with other management colleagues and members of staff as required.
    15. Performance of any other duties/projects etc. as required by members of the Executive team.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Desirable - minimum of 8 x 'O' Level/GCSE passes or equivalent including Mathematics and English.
    • Desirable - minimum of 2 x 'A' Level passes.
    • Essential – extensive experience of working as a Head Housekeeper in a hotel environment
    • Essential – experience of successfully managing diverse teams of people.
    • Essential – experience of successful financial/budgetary/cost management.
    • Desirable - trained and holder of BTEC and/or Higher BTEC qualification(s).
    • Desirable - experienced and competent in using current hotel related software.
