The Senior Technical Specialist of the Medical Teaching Unit will be responsible for the day to day management of the Unit, ensuring that a high quality service is provided for anatomy teaching.

You will have excellent communication, leadership and facilitation skills.

This is a responsible position that requires you to liaise confidently and sensitively with others, including the families of people who have bequeathed their bodies, senior technicians, academics, demonstrators and administrators from other departments within the University and colleagues external to the University.


The Senior Technical Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Medical Teaching Unit and ensuring the resources and environment for teaching are prepared to a high standard.

You will have excellent communication, leadership and facilitation skills, and will be a focussed, experienced and self-motivated individual who will maintain the high quality service required for anatomy teaching.

The Senior Technical Specialist will be a Person Designate in accordance with the Human Tissue Act with delegated responsibilities from the Designated Individual, and will report to the Director of Education and Head of the Academic Unit of Medical Education.

This is a highly responsible position that will require you to liaise confidently and sensitively with other senior technicians, academics, anatomy demonstrators, administrators and staff within other departments of the University as well as external individuals and organisations.
