Community Engagement Officer, joining a growing Health Charity, based in West London. Offering hybrid working pattern of; 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Have you worked in areas such as community engagement, volunteer management, charity related roles, or in a healthcare/medical setting, and are looking for new and very rewarding role?


You will join an Engagement and Registration Team, who aim to raise awareness of the cause and motivate people to register as stem sell donors across the UK.

The team manage a portfolio of events and donor appeals.

Working closely with patients, families, community groups, and volunteers, and alongside the event promotion and marketing team, to create these appeals and events increasing the registration of donors.

As the Community Engagement Officer, working as part of this team, you will:

  • Speak directly with patients and their families to create engaging appeals, alongside supporting them throughout their journey.
  • Manage and deliver events across the UK, with the support of event promotions and marketing team.
  • Work with marketing and PR teams to optimise marketing/PR opportunities regarding events and patient appeals Help improve engagement materials to provide groups and volunteers with tools to promote their events/raise awareness.
  • Run training sessions to educate volunteers on register eligibility criteria, registration process for them to confidently and successfully run their own donor events.
  • Use the Database to log contacts, patients, event activity and track KPI performance.
  • To attend and where required, lead donor events.


We are looking for you to have proven experience working in a service-related role, with outstanding communications skills, able to speak directly to vulnerable individuals or groups, providing support and empathy when required.

Previous experience of being first point of contact, ideally to community, volunteers or public groups from a community, fundraising, medical sector.

Experience of working on/or closely with events and marketing would also be advantageous.
