About the role:


We are looking for Project Supervisors with experience working with Overhead Lines, based in the Reading area working in our South region.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Customer Connections team in our Electricity Transmission business, where you will be National Grid's representative on various construction-based projects.


Essentially, you'll ensure all site-based construction activities delivered by our principal contractors are efficiently managed in accordance with National Grid polices and procedures.

You'll utilise the duties of 'Client Representative' with a keen eye on safety and the quality of the installation.


Assigning local projects and minimising travel is always a priority for us to find a better work/life balance, but travel across the region to our live construction projects will be required.

This is a predominantly site-based role and our regions are quite large, but we will provide you with a company vehicle, paid travel and on top of this, plenty of opportunity to grow your career at National Grid.


We own the electricity transmission network in England and Wales. Every time you plug in your phone or flick a light switch, we've played a part. What you'll need:


  • Qualified Overhead Lines experience with appropriate training and authorisations
  • Technical knowledge relating to the electrical, mechanical and General safety aspects of Overhead Lines
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification or equivalent site management/supervision qualification
  • A proven track record in electricity (or comparable) with site management or site supervision experience
  • Can demonstrate a good understanding of CDM regulations
  • Experience of quality management systems as supervisor under NEC
  • An awareness of Project, Contract and Stakeholder management and client representative experience
  • Full UK driving license is essential
