Description

Reporting to the Head of Brand Creative, the Senior 3D Designer will lead the definition of the consumer brand journey and experience in all IRL formats, including the ideation and roll-out of key retail initiatives, building, testing, and delivering solutions.

This role works closely with the brand experience and vision leads to design strategically led creative solutions for engaging, entertaining, elevated, and educational experiences in all physical channels.

You will also be responsible for leading and innovating in the design of our beauty and lifestyle product categories.

Working cross-functionally with the brand creative, marketing, and product development teams, you will help to develop innovative concepts and design ideation for primary and secondary packaging briefs, as well as a variety of briefs for special projects (retailer exclusives, limited editions, PR gifting), including brand experience initiatives and the delivery of mockups technical specifications, and artworks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Spatial Design

  • Support developing and implementing a retail creative strategy to deliver a distinctive and compelling visual brand world IRL.
  • Execute a design strategy for consumer experience per format (dept store, popup, exhibition space, etc.) and across formats to ensure a cohesive 360 experience for the consumer.
  • Be the REFY point of contact and build relationships for creative sign off with all suppliers, manufacturers and external agencies involved in delivery retail build assets.
  • Create 2D and 3D visualisations, including floor plans, renderings, and mood boards, to convey design concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implementation of an omnichannel experience, including brand guidelines and toolkits, design and printing of all POS and visual merchandising elements, leveraging technologies and ideas across retailers and regions, and measuring effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing and product development, to align spatial designs with brand identity and marketing objectives.
  • Stay updated on retail industry trends and best practices in spatial design, including lighting, material usage, visual technology, and customer experience.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and contractors to coordinate the execution and installation of spatial designs.
  • Conduct onsite visits to ensure design concepts are accurately implemented and meet quality standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve spatial designs based on customer feedback and sales data to optimise the shopping and brand experience.
  • Utilise industry analysis, culture & trend forecasting to develop a point of view on key consumer experience industry trends (instore and online). Determine how applicable they are to REFY and how the trends might be realised for the brand.
  • Champion the consumer journey within the business, creating good working practices across teams to ensure the consumer experience is strategically planned out across online and offline touchpoints.

Product Design

  • Conceptualise, design, and deliver innovative creative packaging solutions for various products and special projects, ensuring brand consistency across the REFY product portfolio.
  • Create concept sketches and renderings to visually communicate ideas and product features to key stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Generate mockups, 3D models, and prototypes using CAD software or other relevant tools.
  • Work closely with product development, marketing, and the brand creative teams to ensure a cohesive and consistent brand image and consumer experience across all packaging, product, POS, and retail formats.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market gaps and opportunities for product improvement or innovation.
  • Provide input in selecting materials, colour schemes, and finishes that align with the brand's identity and target audience.
  • Meticulously review samples, print artwork, and proofs to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Regularly update and refine packaging design guidelines, ensuring best practices and the highest standards are maintained.
  • Adhere to creative schedules and project requirements, demonstrating excellent time management and organisational skills.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


  • A highly creative product or industrial designer (interior, product or architectural design background) with extensive visual merchandising / store design experience in the beauty category (ideally) and packaging design, excellent typography and visualisation skills is essential.
  • A portfolio that includes the delivery of permanent and temporary spaces for brands and demonstrates an expertise in designing premium packaging for the following sectors: skincare, beauty, or luxury goods.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and artworking.
  • Experience with 2D Rendering (3D is even better)
