    talentED are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant for a school in King's Lynn


    The job role of a teaching assistant in a special needs school is multifaceted and crucial to the success of the students and the overall learning environment.


    Supporting Classroom Activities*:
    Teaching assistants help facilitate classroom activities by providing support to students with special needs


    Individualized Attention:
    *Special needs students often require individualized attention and support. Teaching assistants work closely with these students to address their specific learning needs, whether it's providing additional explanations, adapting materials, or offering one-on-one guidance.

    *Assisting with

    Personal Care:
    *Depending on the needs of the students, teaching assistants may assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and hygiene routines


    Behaviour Management:
    *Teaching assistants help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies outlined by the teacher or special education team. They may use positive reinforcement techniques, provide redirection when necessary, and help create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

    *Available in term time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 15:30pm

    • Experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs would be beneficial but not mandatory. You will be flexible, adaptable and have the ability to handle pressured situations.
    • You will be required to complete an online vetting portal, checking your right to work in the UK, satisfactory references, health questionnaire and other relevant checks for working with children.
    *Teaching Assistants are typically paid between £11.50 per hour via PAYE

    • These roles often start as contracted, but move to permanent after 1 or 2 terms of employment depending on the schools needs and your suitability
    • 07% statutory holiday pay, paid every school holiday
    • Term time only employment
    • Access to free CPD, training and development opportunities in school
