- Ward 43 continues the delivery of complex therapy for those patients that require inpatient treatment. Due to the nature of the treatments and diagnoses the patients are often acutely unwell and require intensive support.
- In addition we are proud of the high standard of palliative care we can offer our patients and their families/friends that require it.
- Ward 43 is a recently refurbished 16 bedded ward, of which, 10 are ensuite rooms.
- We are looking for a highly motivated registered nurse who is able to work closely with the multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a keen individual with excellent communication skills, team working and that is committed to delivering a high standard of care.
- Competence in venepuncture and cannulation skills would be an advantage but not essential as full support will be given
- The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for enthusiastic highly motivated newly qualified or experienced Band 5 nurse to join our Haematology/ Endocrinology inpatient ward.
We would welcome applications from those with an interest in the care of Haematology and Endocrinology patients in particular. We are seeking an individual who is comfortable to challenge change, and who is committed to improving the patient experience.
We are a 16 bedded ward who provide care for general medical patients and specialise in Haematology and Endocrinology patients. We have strong links with Palliative care and Acute Oncology and pride ourselves in delivering excellent patient care to all these patient groups.
The nursing role will be to support patients through their hospital admission and treatment journey. Normal nursing duties include; medicine administration, wound and pressure care, discharge planning, and patient education. There is a strong experienced ward team who will support you in your new role and will provide training in specialist clinical skills such as central line access and the care of the Haematology patient.

The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
